Down the hill on a chili morning with the Surly and Travoy combination to run a couple errands. First stop is a mailbox to send back a Netflix DVD. Second is at Fred Meyers to drop off a bag of plastic bags, they seem to accept plastic film. At the site of Freddy’s bottle return center they installed a Bottle Drop center, where prepared bags filled with deposit bottles can be dropped off and counted for me. Thet way, I don’t have to drive about 4 miles and risk waiting up to 15 minutes for a machine to feed it one bottle at a time, oh, and not too fast.
So for $0.55 a 20 pound bag, I can ride my bike, use the trailer, and still get most of my deposits back.
That’s what the non-human interface with Bottle Drop looks like.
Then it up to my neighborhood Starbucks for a brew. Bring the Travoy trailer inside, keep the bike in sight, take a more traditional coffeeuering photograph. Kudos to the the Showers Pass waterproof gloves, they keep my hands warm on this 44º clear morning with an east wind from the interior.
